Drawing Classes for Kids and Teens in Newcastle
Drawing is a universal way of communicating and a skill that so many people wish they had – but don’t realise that everyone can learn to draw – if they are taught well!
Our drawing program helps students to develop a new way of looking at objects, people and animals to identify the shapes, patterns, light and dark that they see, and then to draw what they are seeing.
The program mostly suits dedicated students who have a passion for drawing and want to improve their own ability.
Classes for years 3 – 6: Taking chances, making mistakes, playing, going beyond your limts and being free are all starting points for developing a students drawing style. In this drawing course, Sia will teach students step by step, the process to experiment and unlock creativity in their drawing with manual techniques that will also help to create their own freehand illustrated notebook. Students will explore a range of drawing tools and materials and will learn to build mystery, mood and intrigue in their work through a confident approach to using a range of drawing mediums.
(For students in this age group interested in animé drawing, please join our Fine Art classes in term 1)
Classes for years 7 – 10: Animé
Our advanced drawing classes will delve into the world of Anime art as they develop their own anime characters, learn drawing techniques and how to create expressions and moods for their characters. Alongside this process, Sia will be extending and challenging their drawing skills as she takes them through a drawing course that introduces a range of drawing mediums and helps students to ‘see’ the art of drawing in a new way.
