BEE-SCHOOL BASICS
Our Bee-School Basics program is a great starting point for new students. It gives them creative learning foundations in a half-day morning session, which they can build upon by combining with an afternoon of either ‘Creative Movers’ or ‘Creative Thinkers’ to make a full day of learning. Projects in this program will develop: Fine Motor, Coordination, Listening skills, Neural connection, Language, Pre-Literacy skills, Social/emotional skills, Spacial awareness, Self-expression.
Students are grouped into 2 age brackets: (3 – 4 Yrs) & (4.5 – 6 Yrs)

DRAMA
Using a different children book each fortnight we learn about literacy – how pictures can give meaning, pre-reading skills – that the ‘scribble’ on the page are words that we can speak, We read the emotions and thoughts of characters by their facial expressions and body language, and discuss why a character might feel or behave a certain way. This helps us build understanding of the world around us, develop empathy for how others feel, and become aware of how we are using our own body and facial expressions for what we want. Overall developing our social skills. We learn how to be audience members as we take turns at acting and watching / supporting our friends, being willing to express ourselves and our ideas in front of our friends helps us build confidence and strength of self.

SPANISH
Games, music and stories in Spanish to expose your child to a second (or third) language; build your child’s understanding of language in general; broaden their horizons and the way they learn. Children will learn some basic vocabulary – greetings, colours, numbers … and will experience deeper language around animals, food, body parts, movement. Children who are exposed to a second language at a young age will often find language (and other) learning easier later in school and life.

MUSIC MAKERS
Taken from our Kindermusik program for 3-4 year olds this program offers fun and exciting content that we tweak to cater to each group of children. We explore concepts of music through play and creative engagement. Children are exposed to different instruments and hearing different but familiar sounds, they are encouraged to explore ways of engaging with instruments and responding to different parts of music – eg fast/slow, high/low…. Music is known to be a great overall learning for the brain that crosses the different neural pathways.

VISUAL ARTS
Your child will create amazing artworks each week, with an occasional two week project. This art class is designed to offer a variety of art experiences throughout the term – always with an engaging and exciting outcome. Your child will be learning about different artists, and different types of art as well as different media. We have an art cupboard full of amazing things your chid will love to get their hands into. We teach them not only how to create the art, but also the basic things that are sometimes tricky to do at home…. ensuring we replace lids on textas, cleaning up if we make a spill, trying to not put too much paint on the brush, not letting the paint get flicked around, As well as the bigger picture art skills, such as spatial awareness – understanding space on a page, understanding patterns, understanding shapes make pictures and how to put them together to make a picture, trying different types of strokes and techniques with pencils and paint… how to do a drawing in Texta then paint over it so you can see both.
