Preschool and Primary Kids Drama Lessons in Newcastle, for 3-8 Year Olds
How great are those little moments in life that actually invite and encourage you to relax and truly be yourself. To break free, dance like nobody is watching and sing loudly and vivaciously. To let your world run wild in your imagination…a world where absolutely anything is possible.
The supportive and relaxed environment we create in our Drama classes will ignite your child’s imagination and inspire their ability to express themselves freely. With our friendly teachers at their side providing expert drama instruction your child’s imagination and hidden creative talents will roam free. They will be drawn into a journey of discovery, self-expression and friendship and gain confidence, grow and thrive.
Drama at Hive is focused on developing real acting skills using the face and body to express a range of emotions through expression and movement. These skills are best developed in an atmosphere of play without the pressure of learning lines and preparing for performances. In fact, in the act of preparing for performances, all teaching opportunities are lost except the one’s that are specific to the child’s role in the play, whether that is a 10 second or 10 minute role. For this reason we do not produce shows or stage performances.
Drama Bees: 3-5 & 5- 8 yr olds
Getting involved in drama from a young age offers a wealth of benefits to your little Bee. Hive’s Drama Bee program introduces your child to the art of creative play, characters, story telling and stage songs, helps them to develop the ability to think creatively, to explore and contribute ideas, to become more confident and to work together with others.
Our drama programs provide an experience that combines expert teaching with personal development for children along with low pressure on children and parents. The class atmosphere is non-competitive and one of cooperation and care.
Watch your child’s drama skills flutter and thrive through games, story telling and role-play.
Stage Bees: 8 – 14 yr olds
Hive Stage Bee program further develops your child’s skills and abilities in expression using the face, body and movement, an understanding of characters and an ability to play out a different character. The program develops the ability to improvise, work together as a team and become more confident in working together with other children. The class environment is non-competitive, energetic and happy and is taught by actress and teacher Alexandra Hussein.
